We receive questions about whether laser sights work with TALON Grips. Most of the time the answer is yes.
TALON Grips are less than .5 mm thick, and so in most cases, they can be installed first and the laser sights will fit over the grip.
The M&P line is slightly different when a laser grip is used. You can either cut off the backstrap portion of the grip or if you have a full size M&P order the M&P Full Size PRO/C.O.R.E./Crimson Trace Grip pre cut.
Making TALON Grips Work With Laser Sights
I am a retired officer. I just purchased a M P Smith Shield with Crimson Trace factory installed. Now I have just purchased Your rubberized grip. It should arrive any day. How do I adapt it to the weapon since it will not been cut out for the Crimson Trace? Do I need to return it for a precut model?
The M&P Shield that comes with the Crimson Trace Laser Guard installed will work with the TALON Grip without trimming the grip. You will have to take the laser off, install the TALON Grip, then reinstall the laser.
Regarding color; My security duty dress is slacks, dress shirt, tie….. very hot climate often no jacket.
I urban camouflage by wearing BLACK SLACKS, M&P with Crimson Trace ALL BLACK. This all sits low enough that between slacks tuckable holster, my black belt and dark dress shirt, the whole article is actually almost always overlooked except to good guys who know where to look.
SO, I’M USING BLACK ON BLACK AGAINST BLACK BACKGROUND OBSCURED BY BLACK DRESS BELT…. MY EDC PISTOLS ARE ALL MATTE BLACK, or they aren’t my gear.
Matte black is bussiness and bussiness casual dress. Also have black or dark jeans for off hours.
For the trail, walking the forest or recreational outside city limits if I bring carbine I didn’t want to use black as black carbines are seen as evil…. so carbine is FDE
Backpack is grey and black and “youth” sized Remington 870 is all matte black as well. I should order your furniture enhancements also. Thanks for your help in “getting a grip” that keeps things safe and where they belong.
